Reqad is made by Webdev - a web hosting and development company based in Bucharest, Romania. We've been building websites and running hosting infrastructure for more than two decades, and Reqad is the control panel we always wanted to use.
Over 20 years in web hosting
Webdev started in the early 2000s and has offered web hosting since 2002 - first on servers abroad, then from a Romanian data center starting in 2003. Over the years we've grown a full range of services: shared hosting, virtual and dedicated servers, domain registration (.ro and international), SSL certificates, e-commerce hosting and reseller services. By 2010, hosting and domains made up the large majority of our business.
That's tens of thousands of hours spent provisioning servers, migrating accounts, fixing mail deliverability, renewing certificates and keeping sites online. Reqad distills all of that day-to-day hosting experience into one tool.
Open source is in our DNA
Reqad isn't our first open-source project. From 2000 to 2013 we built and maintained a small web-based chat written in PHP and JavaScript, released under the GPL license. It's still online and racked up more than 200,000 downloads over its lifetime - you can find it on SourceForge.

Why we built Reqad
We've used the cPanel control panel since 2003 to manage our clients' domains, so we know it inside out - what's genuinely useful day to day, and what's bloat. Commercial control panels are heavy, expensive and increasingly locked down. Reqad takes a different path: a single-admin panel built for one VPS with many domains, on the same proven open-source stack - nginx, PHP-FPM, MariaDB, exim and dovecot - that we've trusted for years. It's designed to be easy to install, easy to migrate to, and yours to run.
Open source
Reqad is released under the GPL-3.0 license. The software is free to download and self-host, forever. A premium subscription funds development and adds advanced features and support - but the core stays open.
